Mallorca party hotspots for summer
Southwest Mallorca is where the party’s at!
Whilst neighbouring sister island Ibiza has stolen the crown for summer nightlife, Mallorca has learnt a thing or two from its counterpart and has created its own nightlife scene worth writing home about.
Palma has a huge number of clubs and bars that are open year-round, making it the capital of partying on the island. In the summer months, however, the beach resorts come to life and deliver some of the best parties of the year. So keep an eye out for the impressive line-up of events going on in tourist hot spots between the months of June and September.
Nightclubs on the island tend to kick off after midnight in true late-night Spanish style. If you are planning a party orientated holiday and want to be close to the best of the action, we would recommend staying in the southwest of Mallorca because that is where the party’s at!
Here's our hand-picked list of the best clubbing hotspots on the island.
Party capital – Palma
The city of Palma is the island’s hub for nightlife thanks to its infinite list of bars and clubs that bring in locals and holidaymakers year-round. In May, the Paseo Maritimo along the port of Palma lights up creating a vibrant party scene as bars gear up for the party season until October.
If dancing until dawn is your style, then we recommend Tito's, the largest and most famous nightclub in Palma. Here you’ll find people queuing up on the red carpet, dressed to impress and ready to hit the various dance floors.
Across the road from Tito’s you might notice a swimming pool in the middle of the road. Well, below there resides the stylish Social Club which offers a more exclusive vibe with a large VIP area, table service and plenty of bottle shows with sparklers.
Club De Mar Terrace & Nightclub is a chilled out affair, a little less about dancing and more about socializing. This is the type of place where there’s plenty of opportunities to take a break from the dance floor and catch a breath of fresh air on the terrace.
Garito is for culture vultures seeking a more authentic and intimate Mallorcan experience. Even though it’s quite a small bar & club, there’s always good music and atmosphere here with different nights offering different genres of music. It’s where the locals and expats in the know like to go!
A spot of luxury – Marina nightlife
To taste the finer things in life, take to the ports. As the island heats up in the summer months, the marinas come to life and produce a party scene tailored towards the beautiful, rich and famous.
Puerto Portals is worth a trip in the summer months. Late night bars here are cranked up a notch when their DJs hit the decks after midnight. Above Ritzi Restaurant is a top-notch bar which has built up a solid reputation over the years. We also expect the brand spanking new BOP Bar to cause a stir this summer. At both of these rooftop terraces, overlooking the magnificent boats in the port, you will be rubbing shoulders with yacht owners, captains and groups of holidaymakers looking for a taste of how the other half lives.
Just down the road, Port Adriano’s exclusive nightclub, Uppereast, attracts internationals, yachties and locals. It enjoys a range of renowned DJs, themed parties and live music events in the summer months.
Party resorts – Magaluf & S'Arenal
The reputation of the party resorts of Magaluf and S'Arenal precede them. Famous for cheap drinks and themed parties, these are popular spots for groups of youngsters embarking on their first over 18's holidays each year, although people of all ages can be found partying until the early hours of the morning in these places.
Magaluf is predominantly an English resort that has become an iconic destination in the young party scene worldwide. BH Mallorca has taken over the party reigns in recent years thanks to its open air-festival vibe and first-class acts headlining their pool parties. Neighbouring superclub BCM Planet Dance will host illustrious artists this year, including Steve Aoki, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Oliver Heldens, Tiesto and Afrojack. These are popular events, make sure you book your tickets in advance.
S'Arenal, located just to the east of Palma is the German equivalent to Magaluf. Whilst not so well known amongst the English, we highly recommend venturing for a night out in this neck of the woods. Megapark is the name here, which describes itself as the ‘Biggest Beer Garden in the World’, being open from 10:00 in the morning until 06:00 allows the hardcore clubgoers to party all day and well into the night here. The multitude of bars, dance floors and genres of music along with the massive screens and performances are all the ingredients needed for a good party.
