Puerto Pollensa to Pollensa Cycling Route
Quiet ride on the back roads of Puerto Pollensa to the pretty town of Pollensa
An easy ride that is ideal for hobby cyclists who have hired a bike for the day or for a road cyclist wanting to get off the busy main roads. Not exactly a shortcut but this ride takes you from Puerto Pollenca to Pollensa via the more quiet and scenic parts of North Majorca.
Starting off at the roundabout outside Puerto Pollenca with the large Eroski supermarket, take the exit onto the new bypass road for Alcudia. This road is very smooth and offers a great cycle path and very light traffic. At the second roundabout on this road, take the exit to Llenaire. This flat road is very quiet and the main traffic here is cars going to and from rented villas. The views on this ride are stunning as you can see large areas of farmland stretched out infront of you. Around 1.5km from the roundabout is a junction, take the road to the left following signs for Pollenca. Only 1km after that you will approach another junction with the Ma-2202 road, take a right here and continue following the road until it reaches the first roundabout outside Pollenca as you approach it from Palma.
The route now takes you along the main road from Pollenca to Puerto Pollenca, although this is a busy road there is ample space on the cycle paths. The road back is around 5km which brings the total cycle to 15km. If you don’t fancy taking the main road back, there is another farm road off the same roundabout that you arrived in Pollenca from, if you follow that road with signs to Puerto Pollenca you will return to where you came from on the bypass.
The back roads in North Majorca are generally well looked after with smooth tarmac and clearly signposted. Many also have large cycling maps every couple of kilometers or so.
